Summer Workshop in the Orchard Creek Grand Ballroom

We had a terrific Summer Workshop for members in the Grand Ballroom on Sunday, August 10th. From the beautiful centerpieces made by our own Peggy Phillips, to our favorite DJ, Toni, to our excellent photographer, John Chan, everything came together for a successful, fun, and exhausting event. Thanks to all of you who came and danced and danced. It could not have been better. Special thanks to our DanceLeaders and DanceAids, who make this fun possible, with their untiring calls, and walkthroughs!

We did our first two dances without any walkthroughs, and had a split floor with our Improver dancers doing their part, on their own. Toni has been with us from our first event, and she commented how far you've all come, in such a short time! Your perseverance is paying off.

Sunday DanceLabs A Huge Success!

Our dancelabs, held every Sunday from 9:00 am until noon in the Fine Arts Room at Orchard Creek Lodge are attracting a record number of dancers! Absolute Beginner labs run from 9:00 until 10:00 and include sharing of AB and Beginner line dances, as well as instruction in specific line dance steps such as Monterey Turn and Coaster Step. The 10:00 dancelab is for more advanced dancers, featuring level 2 and 3 dances, such as "Rattlesnake Kiss" and "Rio". From 11:00 until noon, more advanced dancers have their time to work on dances like "Gypsy Queen" and "Wave on Wave".

DanceLabs provide an opportunity for club members to share favorite dances, as well as a chance to prepare for dances held in Sun City Lincoln Hills and in the surrounding communities.
